More Cities Adopt Zero Waste Legislation

Virtually every company today strives to be more environmentally responsible and sustainable. It’s no longer just a pie-in-the-sky add-on feature, something that sounds and looks good to investors and the public. It has become a hard-and-fast initiative that is not only gaining in popularity, but it’s becoming the norm. In fact, as 2019 rolled in, seven U.S. cities have signed up to the C40 declaration to significantly reduce the amount of waste they produce and generate. Those cities are: New York City, Philadelphia, Portland, San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Monica and Washington D.C.

What is C40?

A network of the world’s megacities committed to addressing climate change. C40 supports cities to collaborate effectively, share knowledge and drive meaningful, measurable and sustainable action on climate change.

Pinnacle is paving the way for Zero Landfill

Regardless of state endorsement, many companies are proactively looking for waste to eliminate waste streams to landfills and convert that waste (or most of it) to renewable energy sources. At Pinnacle, we have already taken up that initiative with our Zero Landfill Program. Our goal is to help our customers generate less waste, dispose of less waste, and radically reduce or completely eliminate all waste to landfill or incineration. It’s a tall order, but we have the passion and the capabilities to make it happen by customizing sustainable solutions for each company we work with.

Waste Analysis Study

To help achieve our Zero Landfill goals for your company, our expert analysts are continually looking for ways to help you find recycling opportunities for all of the waste streams generated by your manufacturing or production processes. That’s why we conduct a thorough Waste Analysis Study (WAS). We identify ways to eliminate production waste altogether, as well as finding recycling or alternative uses, diverting your waste from the landfill. Not only will this help your company become a true recycling leader, it also translates into reduced spending, lower operating costs, and a positive ROI.

The benefits of Zero Landfill Waste Recycling:

  • Reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and combustion facilities
  • Conserves scarce natural resources such as timber, water and metals
  • Prevents pollution by reducing the need to process new raw materials
  • Saves energy consumption
  • Reduces greenhouse gas emissions that may contribute to global climate change
  • Improves our efforts to sustain the environment for future generations to enjoy

Everybody Wins With Zero Landfill

At the end of the day, Pinnacle can help you perform more efficiently and optimally, and enhance the public’s perception of your company as a true stewardship of our natural resources, with genuine concern for the quality of life in the community. It’s a win-win for the environment, and your bottom line.
